摘要

Huntingdon's disease (HD) is described as a progressive, inherited, neurodegenerative disorder characterised by movement abnormalities, cognitive impairments and an emotional disturbance (Bates et al., 2002). The genetic mutation for HD has been localised to the HD gene located on chromosome 4p 16.3, which contains a polymorphic, unstable GAG repeat (HD Collaborative Research Group, 1993). The age of onset of the disease can vary between childhood and old age depending on the size of the mutation (number of GAG repeats).
