Analysis of the concentration dependences of integral mixing enthalpies in Ge(Al,Si)-Ga-Gd ternary alloys at 1760 K performed by is operibolic calorimetry method and calculated using the "surrounded atom" model was carried out. The correlation of calculated values ΔH with those of calorimetric one is recegnized. It is established that the thermodynamics of alloy formation in Ge(Al, Si)-Ga-Gd ternary systems is determined by the components interaction in limiting binary gadolinium systems, characterised by existence of intermetallic compounds.
