Magnetically impelled arc welding of thick-walled pipes

摘要

A new process has been developed of magnetically impelled arc-butt welding (MIABW) of pipes with the wall thickness greater than the dimensions of the active spots of the arc column. The paper presents the results of studying MIABW of low-alloy steel pipes with the wall thickness up to 16 mm. Welding equipment has been upgraded to weld thick-walled pipes.
