摘要

In this paper, we describe relationship between an automated fly-through path and a number of unobserved regions in the virtualized endoscope system. When we use the VES as a diagnostic tool, especially as a tool for detecting colon polyps, the user often performs automated fly-through based on the path generated automatically. In the case of colon diagnosis with the VES, there are some "blind areas" at the back of folds. We generate various kinds of fly-through paths from the medial axis of colon and compute the number of undisplayed regions during automated fly-through along each path. The experimental results showed that about 30% of colon regions were classified into undisplayed region in every fly-through path. We could generate the path existed less undisplayed regions by using folds information.
