Comparison between susceptibility and shielding effectiveness of a shielding enclosure

The relation between the shielding effectiveness (SE) and the susceptibility of a shielding enclosure is discussed. The shielding ability of the shielding enclosure is generally evaluated by SE, which is the technique of evaluating the shielding ability based on the difference between using the shielding enclosure and without using it. However, this technique may achieve a result which changes the position of the observation point. In this paper, the susceptibility is examined as one of the alternative valuation bases of SE. It is made clear from experiments and FDTD analysis as well that suscepbility may be different from SE.
