Accidental intra neural injection of local anaesthetic during peripheral neural blockade is associated with permanent nerve injury [1]. This risk may be reduced by measuring and limiting injection pressure. Currently available pressure limiting devices have been shown to be effective, but may be expensive. We improvised a visual pressure monitoring system from commonly available clinical components and wished to study its usefulness as a pressure monitor.
