Failure of intravenous cannula one-way valve.

摘要

A young adult male presented to our emergency department with an abdominal stab wound. We inserted a 14-G intravenous cannula (Vasofix~R Safety, B. Braun, Melsungen, Germany) into his left anterior cubital fossa. Following resuscitation and stabilisation, we transferred the patient to the operating theatre for emergency exploration of his wound.
