Cervical spine movement using the Airway Scope

We were interested to read the paper by Hirabayashi et al. which examined cervical spine movement during laryngos-copy with the Airway Scope (Pentax, Tokyo, Japan) and the Macintosh laryngoscope . In their introduction, they suggest that a non line-of-sight view during intubation may be preferable following trauma in order to reduce cervical spine movement, and that the Airway Scope could fulfil this role
