Constructing the All-Aluminum Office

For years, aluminum has been routinely incorporated into many of the most common office products-phones, fax machines, clocks, and shelving, to name a few. But what about the other standard office items-is it possible to outfit one's workspace with nothing but aluminum? Our survey of new aluminum office gizmos suggests that perhaps the idea is not far-fetched. Lian Li, renowned for its design of computer cases, has launched its aluminum desk series. The OA Fl model (69" X 31" X 30"), available in natural (silver) or black, is anodized and scratch-resistant. A mere 40 lbs., the lightweight desk includes: Sliding drawer with lock in the middle; Individual tanks inside for storage of stationery and other items; Stand for printer with box in the bottom for paper storage; Space for storage of one's computer case; Drawer with elegant handle design and concaves inside for loading CDs; Wire tank beneath for hiding power plug and necessary cables; Storage space for keyboard; Adjustable feet enabling the desk to be placed on uneven ground; and Optional short cabinet for additional storage space.
