High porous (up to 84% porosity) carbon materialspecimens were irradiated with neutrons at 380- 400°C withfluence of 1026 m-2 (E>0.18 MeV) in the side reflector cell ofthe nuclear reactor BOR-60. After irradiation the 25% volumeshrinkage of specimens was observed as well as five-foldincreasing its electric conductivity. The considerable changes ofsize and properties of porous carbon material under irradiationobstruct its use as thermal isolation for core of high temperaturegas-cooled nuclear reactor.
