Ebner modernises its Hicon pusher-type furnace

Novelis Corporation of Oswego, New York, USA, decided to renovate the Ebner pusher-type furnace facility it has been operating since the end of 1991. A similar modification took place at Logan Aluminum, Inc in Russellville, Kentucky, USA. Both modification projects included replacing the insulation, the inner casing, the plenum chamber and the baffles in the furnace roof and walls. The furnace shell was also improved while a new, bolt-type support structure was installed to extend the service life of the new components.
