摘要

This paper reports the results of single-cylinder diesel engine tests in the Japan Clean Air Program (JCAP). Single-cylinder engine tests were carried out to clearly understand the test results for multi-cylinder engines reported by the JCAP Diesel Working Group(WG). In single-cylinder engine tests, engine conditions were systematically varied while fuel properties were independently varied over a broad range. The PM emissions increased in each engine condition with increased T{sub}90 and aromatic content. The fuel sensitivity for each engine condition is different, however. The effect of fuel properties on the NO{sub}x emissions seems to be smaller than the effect on the PM emissions.
