摘要

In order to predict the fluidity of concrete, it is important to estimate the packing fraction of the particles composing the concrete. Generally, the closer the particles packed, the higher the fluidity of con-crete gained. However, until now the method for the estimation of the packing fraction has not been estab-lished yet, In this paper, we proposed a packing model based on fractal theory. In this paper, we proposed a packing model based on fractal theory. In the modeling, we assumed that at close-packed state, particle structure have self-similarity. In order to examine the validity of the model, we carried out the powder packing test and concrete test. In the packing test, the different kind of fly ash was used as the materials. The result indicated that the packing fraction of fly ash could be evaluated by the proposed model. Moreover, in the concrete test, it has supposed that the model could be available for estimating the fluidity of the self-compacting concrete.
