Comparative estimation of the cell population dynamics by the parameters of growth, shikonin accumulation, cell and nucleus sizes and search for putative correlations between the variables of productivity and cell population structure upon maintenance thereof in the suspension and callus cultures have been carried out. Callus culture conditions were found to favor more full expression of the "shikonin content" trait and complicate the expression of "biomass accumulation " trait pattern. It was found the correlation between the productivity and the number of big cells and big nuclei under this conditions. At the same time shikonin accumulation curve derived function pattern as well as the negative correlation between the biomass accumulation curve and the dynamics of the medium-sized cells and nuclei seem to slightly vary with the conditions of maintenance of Arnebia euchroma isolated cells and in greater proportion defined by the hereditary signals.
