Response of cultivated cells of wheat to the salinity and drought was investigated. Sodium chloride (NaCl) and polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000) were used as a stress and selective factors. It was shown that the responsive reaction of the growth of wheat cell suspension culture to salt stress has three phase character. Sublethal concentrations of salt and PEG wich allow to carry out the selection of tolerant cells were determined. Qualitative and quantitative changes in a protein content in the cells of suspension culture in the response to the influence of different stresses were revealed. The increase of the content of polypeptide with molecular weight 56 kDa and occurrence of salt-induced polypeptides with molecular weight 35 kDa and 38 kDa were observed. PEG induction of the synthesis of polypeptide with molecular weight 27 kDa was observed.
