UCLA to research key brass properties ahead of '14 law

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), is planning to research the key properties of common copper-based alloys ahead of the implementation of a new federal law to lower lead content regulations for plumbing fixtures. An advisory board composed of industry participants will meet at UCLA July 7 to review the proposed research methodology for the study, which will examine key physical properties of the copper alloys. The parameters of the study have not yet been disclosed.
