Nyrstar offers 670M dollars for Breakwater, not worrying about rival bids

Nyrstar NV has launched a friendly all-cash bid for Breakwater Resources Ltd. worth almost 700 million dollars, a sum it believes is sufficient to stave off any counterbids. Nyrstar has offered Canadian 7 dollars (7.20 dollars) per share for the company, in addition to a special dividend of C50 cents (C51 cents) per share payable on the eve of the deal, representing an approximate 44-percent premium to Breakwater’s closing price in Toronto Tuesday and valuing the Canadian base and precious metals miner at 473 million euros (670 million dollars).
