A comparative study of morphology and some environmental peculiarities of Verruca spengleri (Crustacea, Cirripedia) from the Black Sea and the Atlantic Ocean [Russian]

The morphology of Verruca spengleri species from the Black Sea was compared with that in individuals of the same species inhabiting the region of the Canary and Azores Islands (the Atlantic Ocean). The significant differences in the environmental conditions of these habitats were shown not to affect the morphology of this species. The results obtained indicate that the identification of the Black Sea populations of V. spengleri as a separate species or subspecies is unfounded. The area of this species-is specified.
