Slowing demand has created havoc in stainless flat-rolled sheet pricing for depot stock as mills look to offload excess inventories, market participants told AMM, "It's a big bloodbath out there right now. The mills are desperate to move tonnage," one service center source in the South said, adding that the value of distributors' inventories were being "tainted" by lower-priced sales. "Some cowboys have made some pretty significant buys that are decimating the market."
