Trends and issues of next generation ad hoc networks -- a proposal of the universal ad hoc network

摘要

In ad hoc networks, a node moves by free will, and the centralized management cannot be applied. There are many challenging research issues, such as how to manage the structure of the network, which freely changes by the node mobility, how to deliver information to the right destinations, how to discover necessary information. In next generation ad hoc networks, openness, generality, common use, reliability, and scalability become keywords. A novel concept of the universal as hoc network is useful to build information network infrastructure, which supports the advanced information-oriented society in the twenty-first century. An example of the service concept on the universal ad hoc network is the open community network. Ethic issues on the universal ad hoc network become important.
