摘要

As an early stage in the analysis of interaction between surface and volume scatterings, this paper deals with two models of moist soil: a homogeneous medium with rough surface and a discrete random medium with flat surface. The electric property of the homogeneous medium changes with water contents, and is described by the effective medium parameters of the medium with randomly distributed spherical water drops. The rough surface scattering is calculated by using the Kirchhoff approximation. On the other hand, the volume scattering from the moist soil is evaluated by using a dense medium radiative transfer equation (DMRT). The scattering characteristics of both models are compared by changing the fractional volume of water in soil.
