Countermeasures for lightning for television wave receiving system using optical modulator

摘要

This paper describes reliability improvement of optical modulator for lightning surges. We have developed television wave-receiving system using optical modulator which was introduced into the TV relay station. At one station, optical bias point of the modulator changed to deteriorate modulation sensitivity. We proved that this was caused by lightning surges through analysis and experiments.
