A study for suitable arrangement of sound sources for reproducing the spatial impression of diffuse sound field

Suitable arrangement, which can reproduce the spatial impression of diffuse sound field was investigated between 1.5kHz and 6kHz. As a result, two conditions for reproducing the spatial impression are found as follows; 1. The sound sources should be placed at both of front area(from θ=0° to ±70°～80°) and rear area(from θ=±70°～80°to 180°), with regard to the θ=0, which face to the middle of the listener. 2. Too many sound sources should not be placed to both of the area, that is θ =±0°～150° and θ = ±650°～180°
