Quanex to acquire window, door manufacturer Alumco

Quanex Building Products Corp. will buy the assets of window and patio door screen maker Aiumco Inc. Quanex, the parent of aluminum sheet producer Nichols Aluminum LLC, signed a definitive agreement to purchase Alumco and its subsidiaries in an all-cash transaction for an undisclosed sum, the Houston-based company said Tuesday. The deal for Alumco, which will become part of Quanex's Engineered Products Group, is expected to close Dec. 31.
