Auto industry players back US fuel economy standards

North American auto industry players have welcomed the finalized national standards for fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation finalized the standards Tuesday, which apply to passenger cars and light trucks built from 2017 through 2025.
