Development of waste heat driven absorption-type refrigerator

We had advanced development of an absorption-type refrigerating machine which, as its driving heat source, effectively utilizes warm waste water from topping systems, etc., such as low temperature (about 60°C) waste water which has so far been of little utility value. We could confirm that the demonstration machine satisfied the target performance under the rated conditions, and we could also verify various operation characteristics to heat medium temperature, cooling water temperature and load. As a result of demonstration tests and research after disassembly, we judged that there are no basic technological problems in performance of the waste heat driven absorption-type refrigerator. However, as a hurdle to be cleared for commercialization, it is necessary to make design for initial cost decrease.
