Nucor Corp.'s beam mill in Berkeley, S.C., and the joint-venture Nucor-Yamato Steel Co. operation in Bly-theville. Ark., have reduced published prices for wide-flange steel beam sections by $40 per ton ($2 per hundredweight) effective immediately in an attempt to remain competitive against a rival's "unpublished discounts," the companies said.
