Work regimes of the sowing disk of the SST-12B seed-drill when sowing cucumbers

Details are given of a laboratory test-rig developed in Russia, and its use for determining the suitability of the SST-12B sugarbeet drill for sowing cucumber seed, either mechanically or pneumatically. Data are presented on the quality of sowing achieved and the factors affecting it, such as the number and size of cells in the disk and its peripheral speed. A new sowing disk was developed (design illustrated), suitable for use in the SST-12 drill for the sowing of cucumbers.
