In this paper, a simple and efficient numerical method to simulate snow accretion process on overhead power lines in strong wind is presented. The flow around one or two power lines is approximated as potential flow, and solved by BEM. In the case of two power lines, theoretical mean Velocity at large distances behind turbulence zone around the first power line is employed as the boundary condition to solve the potential flow around the second power line effectively. Motions of snow flakes are solved. The accretion model of a snow flake on power lines is described. A computer program, SNOWA, has been developed to simulate snow accretion process on one or two power lines in the airflow. Numerical examples are demonstrated to show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method.
