Development of climate models in the earth simulator's era

摘要

The Earth Simulator is a high-end super computer (40TFLOPS) which will be available in 2002. That has accelerated the development of the high-end computers in US and Japan. Corresponding to the appearance of the high end computers, development of climate models has been accelerated. Recent activities on the model development are summarized.
