Anglo, Codelco settle fight over Anglo American Sur

Anglo American Plc and Corporation Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco) have reached an out-of-court settlement on the ownership of Anglo American Sur. The deal gives Codelco a 29.5-percent stake in the prized Chilean copper assets. The settlement ends a 10-month dispute over Anglo American's decision to sell a 24.5-percent stake in the assets to Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Corp. for $5.36 billion, halving the stake Codelco was entitled to take under a preexisting option and increasing the price it would have to pay to do so by 63 percent.
