This work focuses on the freeze-thaw behavior of water droplets on different surfaces in freeze-thaw cycles. We fabricated three kinds of surfaces. Two were super-hydrophobic surfaces fabricated by spraying SiO_2/AB(acetylene black) + trimethylsiloxysilicate (TMSS) suspension solutions onto glass substrates. One was hydrophobic surfaces fabricated by coating trimethylsiloxysilicate (TMSS) onto glass substrates by spin coating method. The water droplets on the super-hydrophobic surfaces showed longer freezing time but less super-cooled level than those on hydrophobic surfaces. In addition, water droplets show higher recovery ability of contact angles on AB + TMSS surfaces than on SiO_2 + TMSS surfaces during the freeze-thaw processes.
