The specific discounted expenditures for construction and operation of 110 and 220 kV overhead transmission lines are determined for a basic set of initial data. These results show that at present the range of economically feasible operation of a 110 kV line, that is, the range of design power to be transmitted over the line. becomes considerably narrower as compared to that for a 220 kV line. This is caused, first of all, by a considerable increase in the expenditures for the compensation for losses in the 110 kV line over the design period. With the tendency for the growth in prices for energy carriers and, respectively, electric power, in the prospects the share of 220 kV lines in the total amount of 110 and 220 kV lines to be put in operation should increase.
