In this paper technical problems are considered which arise at weak loading of 110-220 kV long distance high voltage transmission lines (LDHVTL). The analysis of characteristics of LDHVTL is given, the borders of the account of wave properties of LDHVTL and the opportunities of their idealization are investigated. The established and transitive modes in Manantali-Dakar LDHVTL are analysed.
