Digital preservation is aset of activities aimed atensuring access to digi-tal materials over time.Materials to be preserved must beassessed, selected, and brought under the control of the custodialinstitution. Descriptive metadata,including persistent identifiers,must be created or captured.Also, it may benecessary toprovide docu-mentation toensure thatcontent will be understandable in the future.
