Sorption behaviour of rapeseed (Toria).

Moisture sorption isotherms of rapeseed (Brassica campestris, var. Toria) lines TL-15, TH-68 and Sangam were evaluated at 30, 50 and 70 degrees C using the standard static salt solutions method. Sigmoid trends were observed for the isotherms, showing a clear effect of temp. 4 mathematical models (modified Henderson, modified Chung-Pfost, modified Halsey and modified Oswin) were investigated for their ability to describe the experimental data on the basis of coeff. of determination. Equilibrium moisture content curves were obtained both experimentally and by fitting the selected models to the experimental data. The modified Henderson model was found to provide the most accurate description of the experimental data (R2 = 0.99).
