Models for velocity aftereffect and velocity contrast

Two experiments concerning velocity aftereffect and velocity contrast were carried out. The result for aftereffect experiment showed that perceived test velocity usually decreased with the velocity of adaptation pattern whose motion direction was the same as test pattern. However, the increment of perceived velocity was also observed in the same direction condition. The result for contrast experiment showed that perceived velocity decreased with induced velocity in the same direction but increased in the opposite direction. The difference between experimental results was explained by a model based on two temporal-frequency channels.
