Changing of the guard on ALFA board

ELECTION of board members at the Australian Lot Feeders Association's annual general meeting last month has seen a changing of the guard, with some new faces joining the council's seasoned veterans. Sandy Maconochie has stepped down after four terms as ALFA president and has been succeeded by Rangers Valley general manager Malcolm Foster. Australia Meat Holdings general manager feedlots John Keaveny has stepped back from ALFA responsibilities after four terms on council, the most recent spent as vice-president. Mr Keaveny, who moves on because of additional responsibilities within the grainfed division at AMH, is replaced on the ALFA board by Michael Doyle, feedlot manager at AMH Prime City, near Griffith, NSW. Other new faces on council this year are Jim Cud-more, manager at Kerwee feedlot, Jondaryan, QLD, and Grant Garey, manager at Cargill's Jindalee feedlot, Stockinbingal, NSW.
