High achiever speaks out about waste

THE 2010 Young Lot Feeder Achiever Award winner David Maconochie (pictured) is planning to use a study tour of feed-lots in the US to further his knowledge of composting industries. The 26-year-old was awarded the Young Lot Feeder Achiever Award at Beef Ex 2010 after impressing the judges with his essay on feedlot cattle emissions and a presentation on the public perception of feedlots. David is currently working as the operations manager at Hopkins River Pastoral Co alongside his father, ALFA councillor, Sandy Maconachie.
