As they say, an ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure.THE concept of pre-conditioning in the US had its birth in the late 1960s. A panel of vets in the Association of Bovine Practitioners developed the following guidelines: weaned at least three weeks prior to sale, trained to eat from a bunk, castrated, dehorned, treated for parasites, and vaccinated against clostridial diseases and BRD pathogens.
