ANGUS Society of Australia chief executive Dr Peter Parnell says surging demand on both the domestic and export markets for Angus beef is seeing many Angus producers paid a premium for their cattle. Dr Parnell says there are several factors underpinning the premiums: 1. Angus cattle are recognised on the global stage for their ability to consistently produce the finest high quality beef. 2. The Angus breed offers high cost efficiency and productivity to the beef supply chain, offering females that reach puberty early, go in calf quickly and continue to breed regularly to a late age with a reputation for maintaining high fertility under difficult seasonal conditions.
