摘要

The effect of minimum tillage, in particular direct sowing, on the water-retention properties, porosity, water and air regimes, and the amount of available water in a loamy dernopodzolic soil was studied. The reduction in intensity of tillage treatments is favourable for the retention of water in the soil under hay crops and winter cereals. It also reduces the adverse effect of soil waterlogging in spring. As a result, the sowing of spring crops under a no-tillage system can be made 14-24 days earlier than for surface and conventional tillage systems.
