Studies of the golgii apparatus in the apical meristem cells of potato tubers in the state of dormancy regulated by epibrassinolide

The Golgi apparatus of cells in various regions of the apical meristem of dormant and sprouting potato tubers and tubers treated with growth-inhibiting concentrations of epibrassinolide (EB) was examined by means of electron microscopy and morphometry. The data showed an increase in the activity of the Golgi apparatus in sprouting potato tubers and its inhibition by EB. A relationship between the rate of elongation of the apical meristem cells and the activity of the Golgi apparatus in tubers in the stage of dormancy regulated by EB is discussed.
