Effect of aeromonads with distinct pathogenicity on the content of fatty acids in phospholipids of carp blood

The Content of fatty acids in phospholipids of blood and lymphocytes was studied in carps infected with aeromonads. The content of polyene fatty acids correlated with the stage of infection, and,the stage-dependence was underlain by antiphagocytic and toxic characteristics of the pathogen. The increase in the content of polyene acids in the membranes of lymphocytes was an adaptive reaction that stimulated the function of lymphocytes.
