摘要

The true-time-delay phase (TTD) modules are required in order to suppress the beam pointing errors caused by the frequency variation in the phased array antenna systems (PAA) as transmit or receive broad band signals for communication use. In the large-size or wide-angle-scanning PAA, however, the delay line of the TTD module is so long that the PAA physical dimensions and the phase errors of the PAA excitation become very large. In order to overcome these problems, it is necessary to make the number and maximum delay line of TTD module as small as possible with keeping the desired beam pointing accuracy. to this report, the approximate formulas are proposed for the beam pointing errors of the PAA with simple configuration of TTD modules and the validity of the proposed formulas are also verified.
