Do we need an epistemological discussion to assure forest science? - a critique to the seven theses and three questions about the sustainability of forest science by Oesten and von Detten (2006).

摘要

The article critically discusses the recently published theses of Oesten und VON Detten (2006) about the sustainability of forest science. The present situation of forest science and its options for the future development are considered to be much better as forecasted by Oesten and von Detten. It is assumed that measures like targeted publications, reference to potential applications, directed media activities and networking are suitable tools to strengthen the standing of forest science at present and in the future.
