A number of recent decisions by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have revealed a concerning trend in their actions to guiding medical therapeutics. These actions are meant to increase patient safety and aid clinicians. But, perhaps, they go to far intruding on the practice of medicine and the therapeutic decision-making process. Well-meaning decisions may unfortunately have unintended consequences.
