市民活動や希少種の保護から考える漁場における生物多様性

Although the marine conservation is one of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets which adapted at the CBD-COP10, it has been making little progress. One of the reasons of this is that most of the coastal zones in Japan are fishing grounds and they are the places for the fishing activities. This is why, to conserve the ecosystem and the rare species, it is essential to keep balance between conservation and fishing activities. This has been focused for years and is still an issue. For biodiversity conservation, grasping the condition, careful monitoring of the fishing grounds and consensus building by the stakeholders are needed. It is also important to make arrangements to understand and participate not only for the specialists but also for the fisheries and the citizens.
