摘要

Recent development of ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) mass spectrometry has a potential to detect very tiny amounts of radioactive nuclides owing to its high sensitivity. The detection of long-lived nuclides such as ~(236)U, ~(135)Cs, and ~(129)I has been reported in the recent years. In this review, principle of inorganic mass spectrometry (MS) and characteristics of ICP are explained, and their detection limits are compared with those obtained by conventional radiation measurements.
