GREAT-LOOKING cornfields are in the making in areas where the rain gods were smiling this summer. If midsummer predictions pan out, we may see cornprices below $5 in the coming year. That sounds good, given the feed bills we've faced for some time now. But it's clearly not a time to let up on taking every opportunity to minimize costs. Fortunately, the brood cow is an ideal animal for using nearly every feed resource known to man! So if you won't be harvesting whole plant silage this fall, remember how much potential feed is left behind.
